So you all seemed to like last weeks photo of the week post, it had some great discussion. RAW Interviewee, and all round nice guy Tom Hadley, mentioned how the photo appealed to me and studio or flash type photographers but not necessarily natural light photographers like himself. So I asked him to submit a photo for this week. I’m sure he’ll comment on this photo in more detail but this is how he described it.
It’s a portrait, a landscape and an action shot all rolled into one and I think it’s an image that definitely demands an emotional response from the viewer!
My thoughts were: When I first looked at it, it didn’t reach me, however I respect Tom and he has an amazing eye so I looked at little deeper at the photo and I started to appreciate the image. There is a tremendous amount of scale being displayed with the “tiny” portrait of the man looking over the edge of the cliff or over hang. There is good detail in the shadows and the sky. After a second look I can see why Tom likes this image.
I’m looking forward to hearing what you have to say. Also If you have a entrant for the photo of the week send it through.
