Tell us a little about yourself?
Hi my name is MK.Chilby im a photographer, i’ve been doing photography for about 4 years.
I love the places photography takes me and the way it forces me to look at these Places from a different perspective.
What made you get into photography?
Photography started for me whilst working as a screen printer, in my early 20’s I started taking photographs to turn them into screen prints and print them on canvas, I would use aerosol cans for the background then screen-print my image over the top. This lead to me taking more and more photographs and eventually became more serious about photography and lead to photography being my number one passion.
How did you get started?
I started out taking landscape photos then As I gained more photography experience and being inspired by other photographers such as Bronek kozka, Annie leibovitz, Tim Barber and Andy Warhol I later felt the need to shoot something that held more meaning for me, I felt the need to have more control artistically of my photography.
What sort of photography do you mainly do?
Contemporary photography mostly.
I love shooting abandoned places, people,Capturing moments of nostalgia, thoughts, feelings and memories and displaying them through a series of photographs like a visual diary
What gear are you using?
Im using a nikon D90 and a polaroid camera.
Whats your favourite lens and why?
Macro lenses cause of the great detail.
How are you marketing yourself?
Im mostly markting myself through the internet; flickr, facebook and my website. I’m also trying to do as many exhibitions i can to keep my name out there.
