Following on from the interview with Richard and something he mentioned in the RAW Facebook Group I thought it would be beneficial to have a bit of a chat about timelapse photography.
Timelapse photography interests me a lot but it’s something that I really haven’t explored. I’ve watched some amazing timelapse work including Richard’s but I always thought you required a dolly system to create additional movement. Well Richard throws that up in the air and with his way of timelapse photography, pretty much anyone can give it a try.
After I stopped recording Richard and I had a little chat and he mentioned something that I hadn’t thought about, and that was, shutter actuation’s. For instance the 5dMkII has a shutter rating of 150,000 actuation’s which sounds like a lot. However it is quite easy to burn through 10,000 shutter actuation’s in one timelapse. That’s something to keep in mind.
