You might remember Sony released the awesome but expensive RX1 earlier this year. It is a stunning camera that unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, came with a fixed focal length. To many this was a downfall and with the steep price a complete turn off.
Well it’s now been confirmed that in about a year Sony will be releasing s full framed mirrorless NEX.
- The camera is slightly bigger than the current Sony NEX-7 but the overall design is pretty much the same.
- Both E-Mount and A-Mount lenses will be fully supported.
- It’s now in the last stage of development.
By the sounds of it, this could be the camera that might get me into the mirrorless market. I’m currently testing the Fujifilm X-Pro 1 which my review will come later but is an amazing camera. The Sony NEX-7 has been well-regarded as one of the highest quality mirrorless cameras on the market. I have yet to even pick one up, to me it looks too much a like a mobile phone but the allure of a full framed sensor might be enough to persuade me.
I know in the RAW community there are plenty of mirrorless shooters out there. Has anyone moved completely over yet?
