Many of you would have received some FlickrMail today. If you haven’t let your “Pro” status on Flickr lapse just yet the company is giving you a bonus 3 months free. It seems there is life in Flickr again. They recently released a brand new iPhone app which has got some good reviews (I’ve used it, it’s pretty good) and now an extra 3 months free.
Please enjoy 3 more months of Flickr Pro free as our way of saying thanks this holiday season!
Your current Flickr Pro subscription now ends on 21st March, 2013. On that date, we will automatically renew your Flickr Pro subscription unless you cancel. As a reminder, when you became a recurring Flickr Pro subscriber, you agreed that your subscription would automatically renew on the quarterly/yearly anniversary of your billing date, depending on your subscription plan, at the then-current price, until you cancel your plan. For annual plans, please note that by participating in the Flickr Holiday Gift promotion, your recurring billing date will now be three months later. All other terms of your Flickr Pro subscription are otherwise unchanged.
My 3 months were added automatically however some people on the RAW Live Facebook Group had to log into the Flickr, click a banner and follow the prompts. If you haven’t received and email I would log in and click the banner.
The 3 months free has got me thinking. Flickr must be planning on launching something within the 3 month period in a hope to keep their paid subscription base. I mean 3 months free is nice but for them to truly capitalise they would need to do something drastic.
What do you think it could be, the famous redesign that we’ve heard about but never seen?
