Poor Flickr, you would have thought that there new offerings were timed perfectly for the Instagram TOS nightmare. Well luckily for Flickr a lot of unhappy instagrammers did flock to the safe haven that is Flickr, however another service emerged. It was German built EyeEm.
It’s been climbing the charts fiercely and has established it’s self as a true Intstagram competitor. Over the past week, EyeEm moved from the mid 200’s on the photo and video app charts up to a high of number 2 behind YouTube. It’s dropped back a bit, as these things do but it’s sitting above Instagram.
EyeEm co-fonder Florian Meissner claims that the app is seeing daily sign-up numbers in the 6 figures.
Florian Meissner says that the surge in users doesn’t change the EyeEm game plan:
Our game plan has not changed: Building the best and most beautiful photo community in the world that becomes profitable.
EyeEm hasn’t worked out the last part yet, look what happened when Instagram tried to change up their TOS to potentially make profit out of some of the photos.
