Lomography 35mm Film Scanning for your Smartphone

This is actually pretty useful. Lomography have released a new Kickstarter project which seems to have some decent support behind it. It’s a simple product really a film scanner that works with your smart phone, just think of the applications.

Let’s take for example, myself, I go away on holidays taking my Fed 5 to shoot some street photography. It’s a long trip and I end up shooting  a few rolls of film. It’s not that hard to find someone who can develop them for me but the scanning costs are through the roof and I want to share a few with the RAW community :). Insteps Lomography and their new film scanner.

Using my iPhone I would be able to scan the rolls and edit them and then share the best ones.

This is what the results would look like:

Not to bad for a quick share while your away. The scanning app would look something like this:

The Smartphones it will be compatible with are those that work with the LomoKino Smart Phone Holder, from what I understand that is pretty much every smartphone on the market.

The Lomography Film Scanner is currently sitting at $45,437 pledged with a goal of $50,000 so if you want to see this project come to life, head over to the Kickstarter project page and pledge some coin.
