Do we need a wide angle f/1.8? Thanks to Czech photo site Digiarean who originally leaked to officially named Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM, we might have a new standard on our hands.
A fixed f/1.8 on a zoom lens in un heard of and if the quality is anything like it’s latest releases they might have a winner on their hands.
The lens is apparently designed for a cropped sensor, with 9 aperture blades, ultrasonic autofocus and a 72mm filter size. It weights, reportedly 810 grams and it’s 121mm long. The Canon 24-70 f/2.8 weights 953 grams and is 124mm longs. So this new lens is both smaller and lighter plus it opens up a full stop wider!
So what do you think?
