One of the problems when shooting film is very rarely knowing the exact setting you used for each shot. Unless you happen to walk around with a notebook jotting everything down but who does that these days?
Photographer Oriol Garcia decided a solution was needed in the form of an app. It had to be extremely easy to document all the info from the photos taken. PhotoExif was born. It’s an iOS app that lets you record information such as, camera, lens, shutter speed, aperture, film and GPS coordinates.
You might be think well this is just a digital notebook, PhotoExif allows you to store a catalog of cameras and lenses, it’s interface is simple and easy to select the settings from your recent shot.
Everything is organised into rolls of film. All you have to do is remember to put in the settings for each shot.
At the end of the roll and your photos are scanned you can load them into the free desktop companion app called PhotoExifDesktop where you can merge your PhotoExif data with your image files. For $2 this is a definite must have for film photographers out there.
