It was at Photokina 2012 that Zeiss announced they were working on a new family of lenses for mirrorless cameras. Early this year we got a little look at the upcoming 12mm f/2.8, 32mm f/1.8 and the 50 f/2.8 for Fuji’s X mount and the Sony E mount.
It’s now been revealed by Zeiss that the new lenses will be branded as “Touit”. Zeiss have even published specs, product pages and sample photographs. Why the name “Touit” which is pronounced “to-it”, well apparently is was chosen after an “intensive international selection procedure”.
The 12mm f/2.8 and the 32mm f/1.8 will be the first to launch.
Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8
This wide angle is geared towards landscape photography, in 35mm speak it will come in at 18mm. It features a 99-degree angle of view, and image + build quality that you would expect from Zeiss.
Here’s a couple of sample images.
Zeiss Touit 32mm f/1.8
