Slideshows are becoming more and more popular as we consume more media online. The days of just putting up images that we’ve shot on a blog post and making our viewers scroll through them are coming to an end. Web based slideshows are one thing but if you really want to stand out using a slide show application like PulpMontion which allows you to blend both Videos, Photos and Music seamlessly and easily is something you need to start looking at.
This is the realm of the wedding and portrait photographer. The way you present yourself and package your images up speaks as much about the service you provide as your photography skills do.
PulpMotion has a large collection of pre developed themes that your able to use to start your work off. This is perfect for the photographer who is just starting out in the slideshow world. Granted some of these themes are not to my taste but they might appeal to you and your business.
The beauty of PulpMotion is that it’s pretty much Drag and Drop, it’s has plenty of screen tips that pop up and show you just what your meant to be doing and then you can unleash your creativity by applying filters, and customisable text effects which are all fine tuneable.
If your looking for more themes and functionality then you might want to look into the Advanced version. While the standard version is very good the advanced version has 22 more themes, full customisation of layout, filters, auto commentary, fullscreen media manager, aperture/lightroom support, and motion blur advance settings which is much more appealing to me but it does come at an additional cost of $80 ($129 for the Advanced & $49 for the Standard). I think if you bought the standard version you would be upgrading it pretty soon so you may as well just go advanced and save the time.
PulpMotion has the ability to add zones of interest which allows you to add names to people or add nots, then create stunning animations. Perfect to tell a story.
Of course an app like this wouldn’t be complete with a simple yet effective media managed. The ability to access media in iPhoto, Aperture and Lightroom is welcomed. The fact you can do it in a full screen is just awesome. It just makes the whole processes so much easier and faster which is perfect for the busy photographer.
I’d recommend checking out PulpMotion, if your not ready to buy it download the trial and give it a go.
