I’ve been a fan or Karen’s work for some time now and I’m glad he agreed to be featured on RAW. Although language was an obvious barrier, English being not his native tongue however his work is outstanding and his interview highlights that the gear is not as important as the vision.
Tell us a little about yourself?
I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia February 5, 1986! a kid playing the piano, and was always interested in music and the creative professions! I especially from Russia never went anywhere, and you can tell the world did not go, but at the same time I’m interested in and concerned about the problems in the world, and of course I would like him to create one just a little bit better!
What inspired you to get into photography?
I can not say specifically what has brought me under this occupation. Most likely it was a number of factors, including the desire to create something beautiful, the people themselves, including, and of course the music) is inspired and inspires me to this day. I can say that my first camera was a mobile phone! I’ve never been too keen on the technology that is (or camera lens), I was always more worried about the process of shooting and creating beautiful images!
What gear do you take to each shoot and what lens could you not live without?
I like to shoot on the street for 85 1/2 L, and 135 2/0. the premises are mainly rented by 50 mm 1. / 2, but if you suddenly want to take pictures of scenery, then this case I have a 24/105 but as you probably already understand, I’m shooting landscapes rarely)
What’s your favourite photo that you’ve taken and does it have any significance?
I don’t think I have a most liked photo! I am by nature a man of moods, and in every picture I think there is a part of my mood, starting and ending with the shooting and image processing.
What processing tool do you use and do you believe in the camera doing all the work?
I am always in the work rely on their intuition, of course, the camera also plays an important role, but it is the inner feeling and intuition helps me do what I do)
What’s your favourite photography accessory other than your camera?
as I wrote earlier, I do not attach much importance is the technical aspects of photography, I’m more mesmerizing peace process and the perception of pictures (I hope I said not a difficult language), I know there are people who just fanateyut the technical stuff), but I think that I do not number of theirs)
Where do you prefer to post your photos online and why?
Do you ever get photographer block, and if so what do you do to get inspired?
As I said, I am inspired by music, the world and my internal state, are the main things for my inspiration! and of course women)
Is there anything you wish you had done when you first started in photography that would have made a difference?
I did not think about things like that) I think let it go as is), but time will tell.
Any advice for new photographers wanting to go pro?
My main advice is not to look at others and look for potential within yourself, if something does not work at first then do not worry, and continue to do, and do it! Home Labour and talk to the audience in a language that speaks within you) that is exactly what is creativity.
