It’s no secret that for a long time I’ve recommended Photoshelter to photographers wanting an easy to use feature rich portfolio. However over the past year or so the templates or themes of Photoshelter really struggled to look modern. With mobile devices taking over the internet traffic and large full screen images looking beautiful it seemed Photoshelter was being left behind for other portfolio services or wordpress themes.
However a couple of months ago I was invited to start testing out “beam” which is basically a new look Photoshelter, with stunning themes for photographers. Some of you may have noticed in the last 3 weeks or so my portfolio got an update. The reason was while testing the new themes I wasn’t ready to deal with some of the coding bugs. Over the past month they themes became stable and it was time.
Today “beam” is out of private beta and into public beta so you can all take advantage of the new themes and awesome Photoshelter features. If your not sure if Photoshelter is for you I have a review of it here.
There are currently 4 themes in “beam” for you to choose from, Marquee, Shuffle, Promenade and Element. There is a brand new Site Builder which makes the chore of customising your site simple and quick. The best part of course is that now your website is mobile friendly! I went with the Marquee theme, which I like at the moment but I’m sure at some stage I’ll switch it up and change things up a little.
If you want to know more about “beam” head to the website.
