Next month Panasonic will announce the new GX7 an 18mp sensor rangefinder-styled micro four thirds camera. Pricing will come in at just a little over $1000.00.
If the Olympus OMD is anything to go by in price it should fly out the door. Rangefinder style or retro styled cameras are all the range, Olympus has done it Fuji do it, it’s just the done thing and it’s kind of nice. Cameras are looking like camera again instead of larger smart phones.
The spec list is still a mystery with no official word just yet however it is said to have an 18-megapixel Bayer sensor, in-body 2-axis camera stabilisation (not as good as the OMD 5-axis stabilisation), a pop-up flash,a built-in electronic viewfinder and tilting LCD screen.
It’s said that the cameras design has been heavily inspired by the Panasonic L1 Four Thirds camera which you can see above.
The question is will you buy it and will it be enough to know the Olympus OMD off it’s pedestal?
