I like many other photographers have a smaller Wacom tablet that I use to accompany me and my laptop when I’m on the road. You see once you’ve used a tablet you can’t go back. Everything else seems just weird. Wacom have just announced two new Cintiq tablets for those of us who are on the go.
The two models are Cintiq Companion which is a high-performance Windows 8 creative tablet and the Cintiq Companion Hybrid which is a two=in-one tablet. A full Cintiq for your desktop and then an Android tablet while your on the go.
Powered by a 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processor, Intel HD Graphics 4000, 8GB DDR memory, Window 8 and either a 256GB or 512GB SSD Hard drive.
I think the beauty of the Windows 8 Companion is that it has enough power to run software such as Adobe Photoshop. In theory this could replace your laptop, and iPad. Not a bad little package.
Cintiq Campanion Hybrid
Powered by a Nivida Tegra 4 Quad-core processor, Nividia GPU with 72 graphics cores, micro SD slot, 2gb DDR memor, Android 4.2 and either a 16GB or 32gb of storage the Hyprid is more of a tablet. I does have the ability to plug into your desktop system and be used a tablet for editing. If you don’t have an iPad (or similar) and you want a Cintiq tablet for editing on your desktop this could be the option for you.
