Here’s a look at the one-of-a-kind Jonathan Ive and Marc Newson designed Leica M for (RED). The Leica M will be auctioned off at Sotheby’s on November 23rd 2013 to raise money for The Global Fun to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
For those that don’t know Jonathan Ive is Senior VP of Design at Apple. So as you can imagine the Leica M has that Apple feel to its design. Leica states that it features a laser machined aluminium body and an anodized aluminium outer shell. 561 models and nearly 1000 prototype parts were made during the 85 days it took to create this one of a kind camera.
The camera features a full-frame CMOS sensor, high performance processor and is sporting a new Leica APO-Summicron 50mm f/2 ASPH lens. One can only guess at how much this Leica will fetch at auction. What do you think?
