It seems the D610 is a slight improvement over the D600. The 24mp full-frame DSLR gains a new shutter mechanism, which will fix the “oil-like leak” on the sensor from the D600 model.
There are only 3 new features, one of them being the new shutter mechanism which is more of fix than anything else. There is also a jump in frames per seconds from 5.5fps (D600) to 6fps on the D610 ad some new weather sealing which is in line with the D800.
Reactions around the interwebs have been very interesting, the sentiment is that while it’s great that they fixed the oil issue why didn’t they do a bit more to make it worth while.
Also interesting is that B&H are selling the the body for $1999.95 which is less than the original D600 sold for ($2069.95).
