Remember the Special Edition Jonathan Ive Leica M design for (RED) the auction to raise money for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. It went under the hammer a couple of days ago and fetched twice the Soetheby’s highest estimate.
(RED) charity auction was put on by Bono. Jonathan Ive and Mark Newson created a one of the kind Leica M that took 561 prototype models. Of course there was a heap of hype about this camera, Sotheby’s expected the one of a kind camera would fetch somewhere between $500,000-$750,000, it closed at $1.8 Million!
